I hope you have a great summer class of 2026! Thank you for an excellent school year. I want to encourage you to stay connected to your teachers and learning.
When COVID19 hit our area, Ms. Robinson and a group of teachers started the Empty Bowls Project to make an impact by supporting families in need. If you would like to help over the summer, we would encourage you to participate!
Every Wednesday, we will have a meeting using Zoom to check in with each other. I will answer any questions over the assignments and talk about the new lessons you will have going forward. Please check the blog every day!
Important updates and announcements related to school closure:
Please check “Digital-@ Home-Learning” page regularly for assignment updates. We will be starting lessons on Monday, March 23.
You will find on the page:
Brief description of each week’s activities for students to work from home while the school is out.
3 lessons will be posted each week.
The first two lessons will include a Do-Now, Opening, Work Session, and Closing.
All weekly assignments will be listed in a checklist. (Remember to always write your name/ date/ period at the top of each assignment)
Starting March 30, for each Monday and Wednesday lesson, students will need to complete the associate Microsoft Form that is posted under the lesson.
Please continue working on Reading Plus Software. Work at least 3 times a week for 25-30 minutes each. Remember to first complete a reading combo, and then work on vocabulary. I will be checking Reading Plus to track student usage. This will be the assignment posted for the Friday lessons.
Please feel free to email me your questions and/ or concerns. You can also request individual Zoom conferences where I can answer any questions you have or share my screen with you to help you with your assignments.
Starting next week, I will be posting lessons on the blog with some other activities you will need to review and complete.
I will be scheduling time for all of us to meet for some social time through a program called Zoom. Be sure to check the blog for the date and time.
If you have not already done so, please complete the survey I sent over conferencing and digital needs if they have not already done so.
Please remember that I have posted some extra supplemental materials and lessons that will help you increase their mastery over the standards. I highly recommend students, especially those that are struggling in class, to go back and complete some of the assignments and lessons.
Please know that even though you haven’t been in my class for very long, I am devoted to your success at Griffin. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you or your parents need help or assistance in any way.
